„Manx“, so der Name der EP, wird am 11.11.2011 erscheinen und Gastauftritte von JAW, Tua und Plan B enthalten. Die Produktionen stammen – mit Ausnahme eines Tracks – alle von Maeckes selbst. Wer sich jetzt noch denkt „wiewaswannwo“, den klären wir gerne auf:

Manx ist eine Katzenrasse, die sich von allen übrigen Katzen dadurch unterscheidet, dass sie keinen Schwanz hat. Dieses Merkmal entstand ursprünglich als spontane Genmutation, wird aber heute durch Züchter selektiv gefördert. Die Manx-Katze lebt bereits seit Jahrhunderten auf der in der irischen See liegenden Insel Man.

Manx (andere Bezeichnungen Gaelg, Gailck, Manx-Gälisch, eigene Bezeichnung Gaelg Vanninagh) ist die im 20. Jahrhundert als Erstsprache ausgestorbene gälische (inselkeltische, q-keltische, goidelische) Sprache auf der Insel Man. Nächste Verwandtschaft hat sie mit dem Irischen und dem Schottisch- Gälischen. Die Sprache hat deutliche skandinavische Einflüsse.

Als Rapdeutschland noch mit Vogelgeräuschen und 4XL Tshirts beschäftigt war, trug Maeckes enge Hosen zu den Engelsflügeln und veröffentlichte sein erstes Mash Up Mixtape. Diesmal tut er das nach eigenen Angaben nicht: Maeckes ist immer noch ein Arbeitstier und obwohl er seit geraumer Zeit mit seiner Band den Orsons im Studio ist um an deren ersten Major Album zu arbeiten, kann er es sich nicht verkneifen, ein paar Solo-Songs aufzunehmen. Vielleicht die besten Songs, die er jemals gemacht hat, vielleicht auch nicht. Aber: Die MANX EP ist einfach Rap. Rap auf Maeckes-Art - melancholisch, wütend und mit vielen kleinen Beobachtungen und Lines die genau ins Schwarze treffen. "Manx" ist Rap. Maeckes rappt wieder.
