The Stardew Valley features in Animal Crossing: New Horizons need to be expanded

When Animal Crossing's new pumpkin farming feature was first introduced, many players were ecstatic, but little has been done with it since then to keep Animal Crossing Room Designs interesting. Animal Crossing: New Horizons, the most recent installment in the series, has introduced a number of new gameplay mechanics to the franchise. One of the more exciting additions was the introduction of farming, which was included in the game's fall update and allowed players to grow their own pumpkins for use in DIY recipes. Farming was one of the most anticipated additions to the game. Since then, however, the feature has received little attention within the game, leading some players to believe that they have been cheated.



It's no surprise that the farming mechanics in Animal Crossing sparked so much interest, given the popularity of games like Stardew Valley and other similar farming simulations in recent years. New Horizons and Stardew Valley are both often regarded as relaxing, violence-free games with similar objectives - befriending villagers and living in harmony with the land are two major points of emphasis in both games - and are often compared to one another. When The Sims 4 announced their latest farming-themed expansion pack, Cottage Living, earlier this summer, there was a similar amount of excitement in the air.



How New Horizons Could Make Better Use of Farming Resources. Farmers may be given a greater emphasis in an Animal Crossing: New Horizons DLC pack, which could include additional crops and tools to the game to allow players to make the most of their garden spaces, according to some players' suggestions. Different crops could allow for a greater variety of recipes to be created, and they could also serve as a new means of making a profit for farmers. Cooking could even be introduced into the game, with players using their crops to prepare recipes for themselves or for villagers. Furthermore, the addition of something akin to a cooking book for players to fill out could potentially free up space for the inclusion of additional content for those players aiming to complete every checklist in the game.

Earlier this year, an Animal Crossing leak that was discovered revealed that the islands of New Horizons would be upgraded, with additional space on the southern shore. If this leak is correct and island expansions are unavoidable, it is possible that more space will be made available for farms, which would pave the way for the farming mechanic to take center stage. Players are still waiting for updates on the state of the game and any upcoming changes, however, due to the game's lack of focus during this year's E3 Expo.

The fact that new content will be added to New Horizons in the near future has been communicated; however, it is currently unclear when or what that content will be. As things stand, many Animal Crossing: New Horizons fans are hopeful that this will signal a renewed emphasis on the game's farming system.
